After School Activities
Before and after school enrichment is abundant at Brown. Students may participate in Dynamite Dawgs, Bricks for Kidz, Choir, and Art Enrichment.
Dynamite Dawgs is a 10-week running program for 1st-6th graders in Byron Center that runs from March through May. The Dynamite Dawgs Program is designed to teach and promote great social, physical, and mental health for all boys and girls.
3rd-6th graders will meet after school twice a week for an hour and a half. Meetings will start with a healthy snack (provided by the student), followed by stretching, helpful running tips (including encouragement and motivation), and then a run/walk/jog workout.
The run/walk/jog workouts will grow progressively longer each week with the ultimate goal of completing a 5k by the end of the program in May.
1st and 2nd graders will meet during recess for a run/walk/jog. Students will vote an award each week to the student who best represents the positive traits an ‘every day hero.'
The course is $20 and we will provide a shirt and water bottle. Students will need to bring their own shoes and weather appropriate workout clothes.
If you feel this is something that you or your child would be interested in or you have any questions about the program, please call the school office at 878-6200 for contact information or email email@example.com.
