SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE

Superintendent Dan Takens

Greetings Byron Center Community,

As the holiday season nears, it’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of our days and forget to stop and express gratefulness for our lives and the people around us. So I would like to express my thankfulness for the students in this district who come to school every day ready to learn, for they are the most important ‘why’ in our work.

I am thankful for the tremendous staff in our classrooms, offices, cafeterias, playgrounds, buses, and grounds who really care about our students and district and who work tirelessly to bring out the best in our students. I am thankful for our volunteers who enthusiastically contribute so much to our schools and programs.

Finally, I am thankful for the parents who have kept faith in us. It is the partnership between the school and the home that really makes education work. Even in these difficult and challenging times, I see the unwavering dedication of countless individuals and I know that it is making a difference. For all of these things and more, I am truly grateful.
