Academics

Mission Statement

Byron Center Public Schools, in partnership with the community, will educate and prepare each student to be a responsible citizen capable of pursuing life goals, now and in the future.

Our Beliefs

All students can learn. All students possess unique skills, talent, and potential that can be developed.

Education is a shared responsibility, which includes staff, students, family, and community. Together, everyone achieves more.

Every individual has value. Respecting the dignity of every individual bonds staff, students, family, and community.

Positive school climate and community support contribute to achievement. An environment of trust, cooperation, and mutual respect inspires optimism about education, which empowers the human spirit.

High expectations are essential. The expectations of students, staff, and parents directly affect student achievement.

Be Involved

Our schools are successful because students and parents get involved in their school. Students are encouraged to participate in areas of interest such as clubs, sports, and the arts to round out their academic educational experience. Parents are encouraged to be involved in their child's school by attending parent/teacher conferences, participating as a volunteer, being active in the school PTO, and going to school events. Our district is strong because of the effort that our students, parents, and community make to be involved in our schools.

We envision a seamless continuum of learning and excellence at the Byron Center Public Schools from pre-kindergarten through grade 12.
