SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE

Superintendent Kevin Macina

May 6, 2020

Dear Families and Community Members,

I would like to express my deep appreciation to our community for passing our bond. This bond will allow BCPS to meet our growth and capacity requirements as well as improve and maintain our infrastructure, safety, security, technology, food service, and transportation needs.

Byron Center Public Schools is grateful for this opportunity that our community has entrusted us with. The BCPS community has a rich heritage to build upon. We are committed to building upon the educational excellence that students at BCPS are experiencing and are committed to growing the whole child through academics, fine arts, and athletics. We are steadfast in working to meet the growing social and emotional needs of students.

As a district and community, we continue to serve families who require food and other essentials. The BCPS Nutrition Services program is feeding on average 7000 meals per week. We have partnered with Hand2Hand and Buist Ministries to support these necessities as the shelter in place has been extended, and needs continue to grow. Please reach out to our staff and check our website for updates and information to help meet these requirements.

I am thankful and grateful for this community and for the care people show to the district and one another. Please reach out if you need support or help to find resources.

I am grateful for the commitment and values that our Byron Center community continues to show for students and families. We are the Bulldogs! We are BC Strong!

Sincerely,

Kevin Macina, Ph.D.
